I have a copy of this CD which has a round Promo Only Not for Sale sticker on the box. This is not listed (for this version), only for the US version. Any ideas? Is it worth anything?

The sound quality is lovely on this release, however the packaging and inner sleeves feel extremely cheap and flimsy.

Will pay double of whatever it sold for last.
Or willing to TRADE anything in my collection.

Anyone looking to sell or swap something for a copy of the US cassette version please hit me up. I have a lot of stuff not filed in my collection here. So lemme know if there's something YOU'RE looking for and maybe we can orchestrate a swap…you dig?

Soundwise this edition is an improvement over the Plain LP issue, but nothing mind blowing. I had a black copy of that release which I sold because it was extremely noisy and sounded muddled. I cleaned this LP in my Spinclean and while there are still some crackles are present here and there it is way better than the Plain, in both sound and pressing quality.

That being said tracking down a copy of this edition that isn't significantly warped has been a challenge. Maybe it's because copies in late 2020 have all been sitting for sometime, but I'm on my third copy from Amazon and finally able to piece together a playable two LPs. Will still aim to flatten the two I have kept as they are still wobbly. Bottom line: Probably the best option for an LP version if you can deal with warps, and sounds more analog-y than my CD but for all the trouble just go with the CD until we get a decent quality press of this with known lineage.

here everything went wrong, laquers cut, mastering, pressing...typically plain records release.

My copy sounds quite lovely, very warm and full. I had to clean it a few times to get the dirt and gunk off which was causing a good amount of surface noise. But I'm used to that now with new release vinyl, unfortunately....

Hooray, Plain Recordings reissues another classic album while using the original master tapes for that genuine, analog atmosphere. Right??? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Plain is INFAMOUS for not giving two craps about sound quality for their vinyl reissues. They've been known to just use CD rips to master them. Skeptical? Good! Do some research on Google and on Plain Recordings's page here on Discogs and see what people are saying about this incredible record label. My word of advice: never, EVER buy anything issued by Plain. They are a weaselly company that have an incredible talent at purchasing the rights to pressing beloved albums. They are not so talented at making them worth the purchase. Luckily, this record will be reissued by Island Records in August 2015. Please respect yourself and purchase that instead.
